Project 2: Exploration of Novel Quantum States in Transition-Metal Dichalcogenides and Oxides for New-Generation-Electronics Development


           Transition-metal dichalocogenides, for examples, MoS2, MoSe2 and WSe2, are novel electronics materials with special crystal structures. In this research project, the electronic states of this class of materials will be studied and their special characteristics will be investigated by using the combination of advanced characterization techniques and computations. The knowledge on their electromagnetic properties will be used to develop a prototype of a novel electronics device that demonstrated the utilization of these special characteristics.
